Community Travel

Across Suffolk, there are a selection of different incentives to promote travelling by public transport. This section is to provide further information to assist your queries regarding concessionary travel.

For those that may require a little extra assistance in using public transport, Suffolk County Council provides the ‘Connecting Communities’ service. This helps residents with disabilities get to medical appointments, shops, and even well-being or social activities.
To use the services, you need to book at least 3 working days prior by calling: 01449 614271. Find out more information on the service through the Connecting Communities website.

Volunteer for Community Transport

Community transport services like Connecting Communities are essential for many people, and these services are often on the lookout for volunteers to help them reach even more users.

If you’ve got a bit of time to spare and want to see how you could get involved, just check out their websites above.

Travel Voucher Scheme

There are a number of people who can't access the benefits of free travel on conventional bus services like other residents who qualify for and use a bus pass do.

The council therefore offers a benefit to those persons in the form of travel vouchers that can be used towards the use of community transport, taxis or private hire vehicles.

The value of the vouchers issued is £100 per annum.

Endeavour Card

Are you aged 16-19? The Endeavour Card gives you at least a 25% discount off the cost of full priced adult fares on participating bus services. The card can be used with both Ipswich buses and First Bus.
